The PTW College Football Week 11 contest is live in the EatWatchPlay app and we are here to share our predictions for some of the week’s biggest games. Before we jump into our contest insights, here are some of the storylines we will be keeping an eye on in this week’s CFB slate:
- Can Indiana knock off Michigan and remain unbeaten? The reigning champs have all kinds of issues on offense and the Hoosiers are rolling this season.
- Can Georgia hold up in another tough road test and win at Ole Miss? The Bulldogs beat Texas in Austin two weeks ago but will need to play better than they did against Florida last week.
- Can Colorado remain hot and pick up a huge road win over Texas Tech? The Buffaloes have won 5 of 6 but face a Red Raiders team that just knocked off #11 Iowa State.
- Is it winner goes home for Alabama and LSU? The Crimson Tide are in Baton Rouge to take on the Tigers in a game with massive SEC and CFP implications.
- Can Utah spoil BYU’s perfect season? Utah’s offense has looked miserable over the past few weeks, but BYU will certainly get the Utes best shot this week.
The focus of our insights for this week is three matchups where we think you can pick up some bonus points in the week 11 contest.
#21 Colorado at Texas Tech. Who Wins?
Colorado has won 5 of its last 6 games, has jumped into the top 25, and has an outside shot at running the table and sneaking into the college football playoff. However, it’s important to consider who they have beaten. The Buffalo’s best win over the past 2 months is probably Baylor. They were blown out by unranked Nebraska and lost a tight game to #18 Kansas State.
Texas Tech bounced back from back-to-back Big 12 losses to beat #11 Iowa on the road last week. A key matchup to watch here is the Red Raiders run game against Colorado’s defense. Tahj Brooks has run for 100+ yards in 8 of 9 games this season, and, playing at home, if Texas Tech can dominate time of possession they should win this game.
Michigan at #8 Indiana. Who Wins?
Indiana has been a wagon this season, steamrolling its way through the Big 10 with the best scoring differential in the country. Curt Cignetti’s first season at Indiana has been unbelievably impressive. That said, what is their best win to date? They don’t have a single win over a team that is more than one game above .500.
Michigan will be the best defense the Hoosiers have faced so far this season, and Indiana will be the 5th ranked team the Wolverines have faced in 10 games. Michigan doesn’t have a quarterback, but Davis Warren seems to have righted the ship for the time being. If he can repeat his performance against Oregon, and the Wolverines can run the ball, Michigan is certainly capable of pulling off the upset here.
Our pick: Michigan (+4 Points)
#2 Georgia at #16 Ole Miss. Who Wins?
Georgia’s inconsistent play has infuriated Bulldog fans this season, and has caused many to question whether this team is capable of winning the CFP. Forget the game-to-game swings, Georgia is capable of looking like 2 completely different teams from drive-to-drive. That said, they’ve found a way to get to 7-1 and are currently ranked #3 in the CFP rankings.
Ole Miss comes into Week 10 off of its best offensive performance of the season, putting up 63 points against the (5-3) Arkansas Razorbacks. The Rebels got 562 total yards and 6 touchdowns out of Jaxson Dart, while receiver Jordan Watkins put up 254 yards receiving and 5 touchdowns.
Georgia held Quinn Ewers to just 211 yards passing two weeks ago, but gave up 306 yards to Michael Van Buren and 374 yards to Jalen Milroe. That inconsistency is exactly why we think Ole Miss is a live dog here and is capable of defending its home turf and picking up 4 points in the week 11 contest.
Our pick: Ole Miss (+4 Points)
